Week 8 #18 Social Networking: Making friends in the comfort of your own home.

I really enjoyed networking with people. I like talking with people who have the same interest that I do and I don't have to find out
later I wasted my time and they hate cats or dogs and they were just entertaining me. I
set up a account to network with people who like cats and in a matter of seconds I was able to email with hundreds of people. I guess this is the way the universe looks with all of the networking that is going on.

Week 7: Thought on Technology.

If I were to picture technology then I think I would have to go with this one. It reminds me of all the gadgets in my house and how they would look going out into the universe. I posted a few coments on other blogs about what technology meant to them and it was funny how close we all were about how we felt.

Week 7 #17 Blog about Technology

Technology.......... Oh what a mess when it doesn't feel like working. I really like that we have come so far with technology. The only thing is when it's down and out, it's down and out. I rely on my cell phone so much and sending text-messages that it's unbelievable. I have gone so far as to turn around on my way to Louisiana because I forgot my phone and just felt vulnerable.There was a time I would write down directions to any place I was going. Then I started to use the G.P.S. on my phone. Well you guessed it the phone was out of range one time and I was lost. I didn't have change to use a payphone without breaking my 20$ bill. So I turned around and went back home. It's really bad when you relay on something so bad and you are lost without it.

Week 7: #16 So what's in a wiki?

http://booklovers.pbwiki.com/Princeton%20Public%20Library I really enjoyed this exercise. I went to booklovers and I signed up and it allowed me to add some books and also rate the books. There just were not enough fiction for me so I had to work it out. I didn't have to edit anyones reviews because I thought they did the books justice. The other wiki sites didn't really do anything for me so I'm just going to stick with the bookslovers this go round.

Week 6 #15 Library 2.0 & Web 2.0

Taking all of the info in on 2.0 had my head spinning. I'm nervous about keeping up with all of the changes that are going to come even if we don't want them to. I thought I was scared when we first put computers in the library, but now I know we could not live without them. I thought this was going to only affect the librarians the most, however I was wrong it's going to get us all. I just can't believe all of the information that is out on computers now.

I joined Technonati and I was surprised at how many topics and blogs out there. You could really get hooked on this site and send hours just reading everyones opinion.

Week 16 #13 Tagging makes the web 2.0 world go round

I didn't know about tagging until a few weeks ago. I guess because I didn't have anything that really needed to be tagged. But as I started to read more about it. I guess it will save me alot of time. I found it nice just clicking on a tag and having it go straight to what I wanted. Oh and I have also tagged everyting that could possibly be tagged. The ELF sure doesn't have a problem with telling you several times about your LATE ITEMS:) I think if I was a elf I would want to look like this. U have to be cute if your going to harass people about their late items:)

I signed up with Library Elf and it was funny because not 20min later it sent me 3 emails to tell me something was overdue. I didn't think it would work that fast. And yes I knew the things were overdue. It was kind of embarrassing. 5min after that it sent a notice I had something on hold. Okkkkkkkkkkkk Elf enough already. You were definitely right about the Elf letting you know when your things are late:)

Week 5#11 A THING ABOUT LIBRARY THING

When I started putting together the books I've read I could not believe it. It looks awesome to see many of the covers and to just click on a cover and read about the books. I couldn't stop adding books I was shooting for 100 books.

http://www.technorati.com/ I found that Technorati (which was said to be a popular blog finding tool) was easy for me. I just went to Technorati and found out all the hot info on entertainment. At first I was getting confused and felt I was going around in circles (but I got it) I just can't believe all the info that is out there. How have I been living without knowing how to do this. It has saved me so much time and energy. Thank-U for all the helpful classes.

It makes you feel like u have the news at your fingertips (I guess you do) When Ever you want or Where Ever you are. I set up all the feeds that were interesting to me like MTV News,Yahoo News! Top stories, Dictionary.Com (word of the day), and Dilbert to name a few.
